Oh Happy Day!
Did you notice this post and my last one started with titles to songs? I guess when I am at extremes of emotion I break into song!
Anyway, this is a much, much happier post that my last one. I received my second package yesterday with extreme dread and trepedation. One look at the box and my stomach dropped. It was in such bad shape. Three corners were crunched and it looked like it had been placed under something heavy even though it was clearly marked "fragile". I wonder if it would be treated better if it wasn't marked. I bravely carried it into the kitchen and began opening it. Considering the fact that the first box wasn't damaged at all and it was complete devastation I didn't hold out much hope.
To my wonder and surprise nothing was broken. NOTHING! Two bowls, one cup, two saucers, one berry bowl, six dessert/bread plates and seven salad plates. Plus two painted porcelain plates marked "versailles". Not a chip or crack! I did a happy dance! So exciting!
This was more than I could have hoped for!
As a follow up to the previous post, the seller refunded more than half my money because of the damage to the first box. She didn't have to, I didn't ask but she did. She was as heart broken as I was about them. But now all is good. We have moved on. I'm going to see if I can't take some of the pieces from the disaster and set them in silver. The first one is going to her!

Yeah, they made it safely! So lucky! That box looked horrible! I work at UPS and if that had been your shipper - I was going to let you know how to get through any red tape. But, when you said it was USPS - I knew you were out of luck.
ReplyDeleteSo glad they made it to you in one piece!
