I attempted a new ring today.  I picked up those gorgeous rose cut stones at the gem show and was trying to come up with something to showcase them.  They are all very clear and I thought it would be great to showcase them in an open setting. As I have talked about before I am working on simple and inexpensive items for the holidays.  This week I started making simple hoops and put them in my shop.  Today I had time and light to photograph my busy daughter wearing my hoops.  She was so funny and got tickled just standing there.  We ended up having a laughing fit on the back porch..over nothing.  It was wonderful.

We took our first Kayaking trip this weekend.  We live in an area that has lots of small creeks and bayous.  My husband has for years said he would like to "drop a canoe in one of those and see where it goes".  So, this year for father's day, I booked a kayak trip. We have recently started camping with plans to camp more and more.  I think kayaking will be a great supplement to the camping.

I have this little problem.  See....I can't stop buying gorgeous stones of all kinds.  BUT, when it comes to setting them my idea flow gets blocked. This was seen in your area! This is a red hawk.  I wish I could have gotten closer.  It was beautiful!  It is quite a different sight to see in our residential area.  I have seen them in the more rural areas but it was very striking to see such a large bird just across the yard.  Its one of the smaller birds of prey but much larger than we usually see.
